I was initially quite excited by the brief because it was different to anything we’d done before however after reading a section of the book and watching the film it wasnt my idea of an interesting story. I opted to go for a literal approach using the girl, looking back over her life to the beginning where she and her sister held her fathers hand and ran toward the castle. As i am comfortable using acrylic i decided to go for an almost realistic style. The previous works for this book jacket i found to be quite boring and almost dull so i decided in the painting to make it light almost pastel shading. After playing around with it in photoshop however i thought a darker surrounding gave it a better final look.
